TONG TONG X TOILE DE JOUY
This was the dress that really introduced Tong Tong to the world! It drew droves to our little shop at Shaw Towers during the launch of our first Chinese New Year collection in 2007.
Fascinated with chinoiserie, I was overjoyed to discover this Toile de Jouy fabric. To me, this dress exemplifies east-meets-west aesthetics — Mandarin collar paired with a Victorian silhouette... set amidst a European pastoral scene... you can almost picture a Chinese pagoda in the garden.

Thrilled to bits to find this Chinese fabric! To me, this is the Chinese version of Toile de Jouy. We’ve kept the same silhouette, but worked with more than one fabric now. We like this version too. Is this your cup of tea?
