FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
1
Do you offer custom tailoring?
No, we don't offer custom tailoring. We focus on ready-to-wear designs in standard sizes, so everything is off-the-rack.
2
Do you offer alterations?
No, we don’t. However, there are a few seamstresses who are experienced in altering our clothes that we would be happy to recommend to you.
3
Do you sell and ship outside of Singapore?
Apologies — we currently only sell within Singapore.
4
Why do you use a Pre-Order system instead of keeping ready stock?
It's our way of trying to best match demand with supply, and to minimize waste. Our products are sewn in small, limited quantities. We don't mass-manufacture, and try to avoid returns/disposal that's typical of large fast-fashion retailers.
5
What sizes are available?
For dresses and tops, our sizes S, M, L, XL, XXL, XXXL roughly correspond to US 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12. Please refer to the size chart of each product for specific measurements. If you’d like something in a larger size, please enquire( shop@tongtong.sg).

The size label on my Tong Tong garment is in Chinese — what does it mean?
Since our philosophy is to share our love for Chinese culture, we wanted to have a little fun with our size labels and named them after major dynasties in Chinese history :-) They are: 唐 (S, US2) 宋 (M, US4) 元 (L, US6) 明 (XL, US8) 清 (XXL, US10). If the label is in gray, then: 明 (XXXL, US12) 清 (XXXXL, US14).
Pithy summary of each dynasty:
唐 — Tang dynasty, 618–907 (Grrl power, Wu Zetian, and Yang Guifei)
宋 — Song dynasty, 960–1279 (The brush is mightier than the sword)
元 — Yuan dynasty, 1271–1368 (Mongol rulers and mooncake rebels)
明 — Ming dynasty, 1368–1644 (Blue & white ceramics, and Admiral Zheng He)
清 — Qing dynasty, 1636–1912 (Manchurian qipao and OTT decorative arts)
