I never liked tops with a mandarin collar, centre opening, and frog buttons. I thought that look is too strongly associated with a 店小二 (waiter). When the Adidas Chinese jackets became popular not that long ago, I gave it another thought. Softening the look by removing the shoulder seam and pairing it with soft red gingham, I think this Chinese jacket is something I can live with. Before we opened our first shop, I tested the market with 100 cheongsams and tops for sale in December 2005. In our first ever collection were tops made with red gingham contrasted with blue piping... so this is a little nod to our roots.
